Welcome to Penheale

Penheale

Since 1066

Country estates hold different meanings for different people. As custodians, our purpose is to preserve Penheale’s unique heritage as a traditional, rural estate while conserving and enhancing the environment, and its picturesque landscapes, for future generations and the wider community.

Each generation will face its own unique set of challenges. Today’s “climate emergency” has expedited the need to “think globally and act locally”. To that end, there is much that needs to be done. However, there is plenty to be excited about at Penheale with an energised, targeted focus on ecology. This is at the heart of our future planning.

We have reimagined our role as custodians to one with an innovative ecological focus. Through our participation in a variety of environmentally-aware projects, our key objective is to become a major contributor to a greener, more sustainable future.

This website will shine a light on the goings-on behind the gates of this secluded, yet enchanting, Cornish estate – its rich history, new and ongoing projects, volunteering opportunities and property vacancies.

A place shaped by nature

Penheale’s relationship with local community has evolved throughout its centuries-old history. Previous incumbents were major local employers, Vicar to Egloskerry Church and rallied pro-Royalist trips against Cromwell! Today, we maintain tradition but with participation in local affairs, events and fundraisers.
